That is, we moved here the vehicle we brought from Illinois (a 2001) was up for the 4 years + 2 year emissions test we didn't get the notices because of the old address on the IL license and the change of address form running out licenses suspended. The only thing that makes sense (correct me if I'm wrong or please confirm) is emissions. Of course, it appears whatever this is, must be something that can affect both of us, which seems like it would make even parking tickets I didn't know about impossible. I have no DWIs, no unpaid parking tickets that I know of, no civil lawsuits involving child support or accident fault. I've poured over Illinois statutes, and can only find one item that should apply to me that is listed as grounds for suspended a license. I verify mine then for the heck of it check my wife's. of State number for an automated service that simply verifies suspensions. Yesterday, I try calling Ohio BMVs, Illinois DMVs, etc., and I'm told that only the Springfield DMV office can tell me why my license is suspended. I was in the car when the dispatched said, "license suspended, no reason listed."
The officer could not tell me why it was suspended. Vehicle impounded, DUS ticket, license impounded. We know we should have, but figured technically we were fine as long as they hadn't expired.įriday, I'm pulled over for rolling through a stop sign and I'm told I have a suspended license. We never bothered to change our driver's licenses. My wife, five kids and I moved to Ohio two and a half years ago from Illinois.
